Guitar
The guitar has existed for hundreds of years in many different forms and is
known by many names in many different languages. Variations of the instrument
can be found throughout the world.
Many genres of music use the guitar to create original sound techniques and
styles of playing. A good player can manipulate and transform the sounds of the
strings to mimic nearly any other instrument.
It is safe to say that the guitar is the second most versatile instrument ever
created, second only to the keyboard synthesizer. Many guitar instructors do not
teach students how to read music notation. This is unfortunate, because for
anyone to truly be able to play and understand music, they must first understand
the language and notation of music.
Students of Neighborhood Academy will be provided instruction on how to read
music notation as they take guitar lessons.
Lessons are offered in acoustic, electric, and bass guitar.
